I'm getting really excited about winter camp 2012!
We leave this afternoon!
I look forward to spending a fast paced 2 nights and 3 days with these K-5 kids. Please be praying for Tyrell, Anna, and I, as we teach the lessons this weekend. Anna was one of the Summer Interns I livied with during the summer. It is great to have her as a counselor and teaching! She did such a great job teaching the Bible lessons for club when she was here. It is a blessing to be able to see how God uses her at Winter Camp. We also have a couple of counselors coming back who were at Camp Friedenswald. We have been blessed with having counselors all lined up early on and it was not an issue getting girls OR guys this time. ALL 47 spots were filled by last week with a waiting list too.
Our theme is "Wintery Nights". We are using parts of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch, and the Wardrobe in the lessons. The first lesson I will be teaching on Saturday morning. It will be on Edmund's Sin. We will look at his sin, what it means to sin, how everyone is a sinner, and how it affects others.
We are also praying for snow. My specific prayer last night is that we will get up there fine and then tonight it will snow. There may not be that much snow now in the area of WI where we are going, but I know God can make it happen. So I have packed accordingly. :-)
Please pray that we will have God's protection over us as we travel to and from camp.
Looking forward to sharing with you what God does on this trip!
God has a plan bigger than ours on this trip!
